Evil has come to the Butte County Institute of Special Education, and its students will never be the same. After surviving a battle to the death with his own monstrous creation, Dr. Stern returns to continue his horrible research. Armed with a fatal hyper-intelligence serum, the mad doctor transforms a quiet community into an army of flesh-eating zombies. It's a showdown of limb-chopping, head-bursting proportions as Stern's nemesis, F.B.I. agent Susan Hannigan, and the local sheriff's department take on the zombie plague in the ultimate battle royale.

Retardead won't win any awards for being intelligent or even profound. Some of the acting leaves a lot to be desired, and the dialogue sometimes borders on the predictable and/or robotic or both. Yet, this film is a hell of a lot of fun to watch. There is gore flying all over the place in here. The make-up and gore scenes are very well done. There are some pretty funny moments in here. The Living Dead Girlz (a group of female dancers who dress up as zombies) appear briefly to have some fun with Dr. Stern. All in all, this film is a lot of fun to watch, even if it isn't very deep. Besides, I've always been a sucker for utterly ridiculous, low budget zombie movies.

I give "Retardead" 7 out of 10.
